Skittles are awesome....

Last week I forgot to mention, Carter learned how to tie his shoes!.  Congratulations goes out to Carter!  We worked on it one evening last week.  It started off pretty rocky, but after I decided to get the Skittles out, he chose to learn pretty quickly.  :-)
A "congratulations" also goes out to Carlee.  As of last Friday, she has finally decided to cooperate with potty training.  We've been working with it on and off since August, with no luck.  I started out bribing her with stickers, which didn't really work.  I went straight to Skittles, but that didn't work right away either.  Friday was the first day we went back to potty training and we started early in the morning.  By about 9 that morning, she had finally peed in the potty!  Without even mentioning Skittles to her since a couple weeks prior, she looks up to me after I've given her a hug and told her how proud I was of her, and says "I have Skittles."......which meant that she wanted the Skittles she earned.  I couldn't believe she remembered that!  So I did reward her with two Skittles and now we're down to one skittle (or if it's close to bedtime, she gets a great big bear hug instead).  I have to say, it's not been a full week yet and she hasn't had a pee accident in two full days (except #2, which will soon follow, I'm sure).  It'll be so nice to get rid of buying diapers!  Yay!  Carlee will be 2-1/2 next month, so I'm pretty happy that she's finally decided to work with me.
Skittles work like charms in this household.  :-)

On Sunday, we had a big bear that was kicked out of the field by a combine and headed straight to our place and went through our sheds.  Of course I had to go and get the camera!  Only wish I would've taken more than this one picture.  Just after this picture, he was up on his hind legs for probably a good 10 seconds, but I just stood there staring.  Using the 4-wheeler and a gunshot, Jay chased him back into the woods.  It was a neat experience, but I'd rather not see him again here.
